One of the perks of having a blog is that every now and then people will give you stuff for free in exchange for a write up. For me, it is usually something digital; it's electronic. The person giving it away spent all of his time making the first one and the others (more or less) made themselves. Recently though, I was given a pen crafted by Regal Wood Designs. This pen was made specifically for me. The casing is made of Bamboo. The shape fits my hand and writing style. The hardware is silver and not too flashy. The top is equipped with a stylus that works perfectly on my iPhone and iPad. I liked this pen so much, I decided to buy another one to give away.
A Quick Story
I was at a trade show recently and briefly loaned out my pen. I am fond of showing off my pen, but this was neither the time nor the place. This guy didn't know me from Adam, and he certainly didn't know the history of my pen. I found it interesting, though, that he was able to recognize that this was a quality writing utensil. In hopes making a jab at me, when he finished writing he said, "Here's your $10 pen back." I did in fact feel jabbed. I turned to my colleague who was there with me and said, "That's a $30 pen, thank you very much!"
