I am learning more and more the benefit of letting other people do the things they are good at doing.  As tempted as I am to make this post all about what you should let me do, I'm going to take a step back and update you on my new office.  As you might recall from my last update (18 years ago), I made some gigantic wholes in the walls.  Needless to say dust was everywhere.  I set aside some time to clean it up.  I even borrowed two shop vacs to do it, but something would always prevent me from taking the time to ACTUALLY do it.  (It's like yard work in that respect.)  So, finally I agreed to pay someone else to do it for me.  And, BOY am I glad I did.

Before/During
Like I said, dust and chunks of plaster and stucco were covering the once good looking floor.  My plan was to spend a Saturday vacuuming and mopping before we moved ahead with the rest of the building.  Instead, I had Bishop Clean Care (who have a very sharp site) come over.  They brought 5 people.  Those five professionals cleaned for 4 hours.  The floor still looked terrible.

They Weren't Satisfied
Clearly I was not satisfied, but neither were the good people at Bishop Clean Care.  The next day they came back with an extractor that sprays steamy water on the floor and then sucks it back up with everything else that you could imagine.  It looked pretty much just as bad.  At this point, I was sure I had ruined the floors.

The Magic
That's when the magic happened.  You see what I would have never known was that the floor was actually clean.  It just didn't look clean.  The finish had been absorbed/destroyed by all of that dust.  So, the next day Bishop Clean Care came out a 3rd time with a finish.  And, oh the difference ...

Celebration
I am incredibly pleased, and I know that I could have never done it ... and it would have taken me a lot longer to try.  So, what did I do to celebrate these immaculate floors?  Why, I bought rugs, of course!
