Is AutoSEO Too Good to Be True?

On March 31, the head of Google's webspam team Matt Cutts (who has been taking some time off) tweeted that he was unveiling a new project called AutoSEO located at seo.ninja.  What's it all about?  AutoSEO claims to be "automatic SEO" that will "processes your content" all open source, all for free.  All you have to do is write your content!  Sound too good to be true?

April Fools'

As you might have guessed from com.google or Fiber Dial-up, the guys at Google are some pranksters, even if they are taking some time off.  Yes, AutoSEO was a bit of an April Fools' Day joke.  I'm so sorry to disappoint.

Or Is It?

Don't be too disappointed, though.  There is some good news.  You see, there actually is a service that will at no charge process your site content and automatically pair it with the best search queries in your area.  In fact, pretty soon such pairing will even be specific to the device.  Who provides such a fantastic service?  It's called: Google ... some pronounce it Bing.

"AutoSEO is automatic SEO.  You write your text, and AutoSEO processes [it] ..."  You write your text ... your content!  Sure there is more that you can do to improve SEO, but none of it matters unless you've got the content to back it up.

So, what's my call to action here?  Simply this: Write!
